Solving the Last Mile Internet Problem
The challenges in last-mile internet connectivity persist in both urban and rural areas today. Even in cities connectivity can be unreliable, leading to frequent outages or slow speeds. This can affect businesses, homes, education, essentially influencing the overall quality of life.
Driven by the determination to confront this challenge, “Team Benlycos” drew inspiration from the enduring wisdom often attributed to ‘Tecumseh’: “A single twig breaks, but the bundle of twigs is strong.” Recognizing that each last mile connection is relatively unreliable due to various factors affecting quality of data transmission, the team conceived a strategy of combining multiple connectivity sources. By doing so, they aimed to enhance speed, reliability, and security in the critical last mile of internet usage.
This realization led to the development and subsequent launch of technologies, like Benlycos Advanced Bonding Technology (B-ABT), Benlycos Load Balancing Technology (B-LBT), and Benlycos Band Locking Technology. Collectively, these innovations facilitated fast, dependable, and secure internet connections, even in regions where there is limited existing connectivity.
The first product to harness Benlycos Technologies was the Zifilink VT Series of Internet Bonding Routers. This implementation led to a remarkable improvement in Zifilink’s bonding capabilities, resulting in an enhanced customer experience. At present, all Zifilink products are powered by Benlycos Technology.
The year 2022 marked the introduction of another groundbreaking offering, ‘Bloom Tulip.’ This innovative product not only further expanded user flexibility but also prioritized portability through the integration of built-in SIM options and battery functionality.
Empowering PwC to Break Free from Poor Internet Connectivity
PwC, as an audit firm, performs audits for clients spanning diverse industries, including those situated in geographically remote regions with restricted internet access.
The challenges faced by them included:
- Unreliable Internet: Unreliable internet connections, whether in cities or rural areas, posed significant challenges to transfer large audit files securely and efficiently
- Data Security: Given the paramount importance of ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive audit data during transmission, they aspired to limit the use of public Wi-Fi networks.
- Timely Audits: Delays caused by poor internet connectivity could affect audit timelines, sometimes impacting client satisfaction and regulatory compliance
PwC chose the Zifilink Internet Bonding Router, a product by Benlycos Technology. Zifilink can combine multiple internet connections (Ethernet or SIM Network through Dongles) into a single, higher-speed virtual connection, granting them freedom from unreliable internet connections. Being portable, they could carry the device with them to audit locations, whether in a city, town, or even a village. Zifilink not only provided them with speed but also with reliability, security, and portability.
One notable example where they benefited from the Zifilink Bonding Router was during audits near the Bangalore Central Jail area. Network connectivity in that region had always been unreliable and slow. In the past, they relied on a single internet connection, making it highly unreliable. However, by switching to the Zifilink Bonding Router, they were able to utilize multiple network connections and enjoy a faster, more reliable, and secure connection.
Our product proved especially valuable in rural areas, where connectivity has consistently posed a challenge. Now, with Zifilink, they can always be assured of better connectivity.
