All Indian technology companies do have a UPS power backup systems. Since we are a start-up we don’t have a separate room to maintain all the batteries and inverter systems. So we kept the battery on a rack inside the office itself. During the night times, we close all the windows before leaving office. On next day morning, lead acid smell is coming from the batteries would accumulate fully inside the office and we would feel it while opening the office.

How did we solve it?

Simple. We bought one Sansevieria Trifasciata and placed near the battery racks. It is also called as the Snake plant. From next day, we felt less lead acid smell. Then we added two more to it and now there is no smell of lead acid in the morning.
